Compressive Resistance and Tensile Strength

These two big terms throw a lot of people. Simply put, they spell out durability. Of all the high NRC absorbers Perdue Acoustics patented cores, have the highest compressive resistance and tensile strength...or durability.

At much more cost, fiberglass competitors face their cores with a compressed 1/8" layer of...more fiberglass? When you strike one of these "high impact" absorbers, the 1/8" board cracks a nice clean hole in the panel, taking the cloth with it. In the same abuse test on a Perdue Acoustics standard absorber, the reinforcing mat flexes, regains 90% compression immediately, and the other 10% over time. You can break through, but at twice the impact on our standard absorber as their "high impact" absorber!

Tensile strength, or tear strength, is less applicable but if you can anchor the top of a Perdue Acoustics panel down, you can tear off the bottom half by applying 2,631 pounds per Sq ft! Just don't hang any cars from the bottom of one of our absorber panels and you will be all right! Perdue Acoustics – the best durability!
